Here is the through-line. When the original drawing is gone, or never existed, the object itself becomes the drawing. We scan the physical part and hand back a precise digital version you can measure, remake, inspect, or keep forever.

The range surprises people

Most people assume 3D scanning is for buildings. It is not only for buildings. The same technology captures a single object with the detail of a fingerprint. A short, real list of what has come through the door.

If your object is not on that list, that is normal. The list is not the limit. It is a sample. Whatever your part is, describe it and we tell you how it gets captured.

When the drawing is gone, the object is the drawing.

A part breaks and the manufacturer no longer exists. A tool was made by hand fifty years ago and there is no file for it. A component was tuned on the shop floor and the final shape lives only in the metal. In every one of those cases the knowledge is still there. It is just locked inside the physical object.

Scanning recovers it. We measure the object as it truly is, down to the worn edges and the changes nobody wrote down, and turn it into a clean digital model. From there you can reverse engineer it, refabricate it, redesign it, or archive it so it can never be lost again.

What you get back

The scan is the start. The deliverable is what makes it useful. We produce the format your downstream work actually needs.

A precise 3D model or mesh

A faithful digital twin of the object, accurate to the surface. The base deliverable everything else is built from.

CAD / STEP for reverse engineering

Solid, editable CAD and STEP files a manufacturer or engineer can open, modify, and send straight to fabrication or machining.

Inspection reports

A dimensional comparison of the real part against a reference model, showing where it deviates and by how much. Proof, not guesswork.

An archive file

A permanent, vendor-neutral digital record of the object as it exists today. For artifacts, tooling, and anything you cannot afford to lose.

How it gets captured is on us

You do not have to know which method fits your object. That is our call, made for the job, never for a vendor's equipment. Here is the plain-English version of the tools.

Method What it is good for
Structured-light scanning Projects a light pattern over the object and reads its distortion. Fast and detailed for small to medium parts with fine surface features.
Blue-light scanning A high-precision form of structured light. The choice when tolerances are tight and the surface detail has to be exact.
Close-range photogrammetry Builds a model from many overlapping photographs. Well suited to larger objects, textured surfaces, and shapes a scanner cannot easily reach.

Size is not a barrier in either direction. We have captured a fishing lure and a turbine with the same process discipline. Small does not mean too small. Large does not mean too large.

Know exactly what you need? Even better.

A lot of people hesitate to reach out because they think they are supposed to arrive with a spec. Material, tolerance, file format, method. You do not need any of that.

What you can send us is simple. A photo of the object. A sentence about what you want to do with it. Whether you have any existing drawing or none at all. That is enough for us to understand the job.

From there, the figuring-out is our job. We tell you what the object needs, what the deliverable should be, and what it costs. Whether you know the answer already or have no idea, it is nothing to worry about. That is exactly what we are here for.

Questions people actually ask

Is my part too small or too strange to scan?

No. We have captured things as small as a fishing lure and as large as a turbine. Odd geometry, worn edges, one-off shapes, none of that is a problem. If it exists in the physical world, it can be scanned. Tell us what it is and we handle the rest.

I do not have a drawing for this part. Can you still help?

That is the most common reason people call. When the original drawing is gone or never existed, the object itself becomes the drawing. We scan it and produce a clean 3D model or CAD/STEP file you can use to reverse engineer, refabricate, or archive it.

What do I actually get back?

It depends on what the data needs to do. Common deliverables are a precise 3D mesh, a CAD or STEP file for reverse engineering and manufacturing, a dimensional inspection report comparing the part to a reference, or a permanent archive file. You describe the goal and we deliver the right format.

I do not know which of those I need. Is that a problem?

Plenty of clients start exactly there. Tell us about the object and what you want to do with it, and we map it to the right capture and output, then get you a quote. If you already know the spec, we quote straight to it.
