A data-center fit-out is a layout problem at enormous scale. Rack rows, containment aisles, power whips, and mechanical penetrations have to land exactly where the model puts them, hall after hall, or the install falls behind. Driving those points straight from the BIM model onto the slab is robotic layout, and across a corridor building out thousands of megawatts it is how the schedule holds.
Those halls also demand a floor that is genuinely flat, because tall racks and precision equipment do not forgive a wavy slab. Scanning the whole floor and grading it produces a full-slab floor flatness analysis that catches every high and low spot before the racks roll in.
The District's federal and historic buildings need careful capture.
The federal and GSA portfolio in Washington is enormous, and much of it is old, ornate, and constantly under renovation. When a monumental building governed by the Height Act is documented for restoration, adaptive reuse, or a systems upgrade, the fabric cannot be disturbed and the record has to be exact.
