Terrestrial scanning captures a running plant from the walkways and grade, so the facility keeps operating while the survey happens. The registered cloud holds every visible surface at millimeter accuracy, dense enough that a pipe, a support, and a vessel all read at their true size and position, which is the accuracy process design and clash-free fabrication depend on.
